5 Steps to Growth

Hi, Gang!

This quick "Chicken Skin Moment" gives my take on five essential steps to growing our relationship with our Lord. I trust all five are already on your list of must-do priorities and, if not, that you will be inspired to make a habit of them--the growth will then happen naturally (or should I say, supernaturally)!

God’s Fire

Another Pastor Dain Spore Chicken Skin Moment! This time Dain looks at four types of fire: God's fire that is.

Invisible God

Pastor Dain Spore's Chicken Skin Moment discusses how we see the invisible God. He tells of an intriguing conversation with a top-flight psychologist friend involved with Alcoholics Anonymous.

Commandment 11

Pastor Dain Spore's Chicken Skin Moment this time is The Eleventh Commandment, focusing on Exodus 20:1,1. These two verses come just before the famous Ten Commandments and they drastically change our understanding of the Commandments! Dain explains how to read the Commandments through "the eyes of grace."

Pastor Dain Spore explains what may be the quickest way to become a worthless individual. He directs us to Isaiah 44 and 45 to learn what idol worship is all about, concluding that idolatry goes beyond the common idea that an idol is anything that comes between us and God; it's worse than that!

Bronze Shields

Pastor Dain turns a story in the Bible of gold shields and bronze shields into a parable about truly honoring the Lord and the "gold shield" blessings that follow. He contrasts two weddings, one with the "gold shield standard" and one that settled for the bronze. Solid wisdom from God's Word!

Two theories about heaven: Heaven is nothing like earth; heaven is just like earth only perfect. Dain gives his idea, based on the exchange between the thief on the cross and Jesus and Revelation 21:1+.

Science and Religion

Pastor Dain Spore with another Chicken Skin Moment. This time it's Science and Religion; the two worlds we live in. Good food for thought!

Dain does it. Adam and Eve do it. We all do it. Blame-shifting. Blaming others for our issues. As long as we don't take responsibility for our own actions we never move on, we never get better. Pity the poor census worker that came to Dain's door on a bad day!

A detailed definition of the Bible word 'shalom.' It means much more than simply 'peace.' It's God's Big Plan to bring us to a state of shalom. An encouraging look at what God has in store for those who love Him.
