Hey Gang!

One of the reasons I picked the Book of 1John was I thought that after all the blood and gore from the Book of Joshua, it would be nice to read about love. And here we are! I just counted the word “love” 26 times in 14 verses! This is truly the love chapter of the Bible.

Hey Gang,

If you watched last week's introduction to 1st John and the dig into the first chapter, then you already know. Know what? That the Book of 1st John was way more fun and interesting than we (or at least me!) had thought it would be!

This time we cover the second chapter. The key verse will be “We know that we have come to know Him if we obey His commands.” Enjoy!

Hey Gang,

We are kicking off the Book of 1 John, also known as the “The Love Book.” HOWEVER, I have already been pleasantly surprised at how different this book is then what I had thought it was about. I thought it would be an extension of Jesus saying “love your neighbor,” but I was wrong! It has a fascinating cultural backstory very similar to our own, and it explores depths of Christology and theology that surprised me. It’s really interesting!
